Komani is a pioneering social enterprise founded with a mission to break the cycle of poverty and empower South African girls and women through access to affordable, reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education.
Recognising that period poverty keeps girls out of school and affects women’s dignity and well-being, Komani manufactures and distributes reusable pads to underprivileged schoolgirls at no cost, supported by sponsors and partners who share this belief.
Skin Renewal is passionate about providing education in communities, which in turn gives young women the dignity they seek. Komani pads may be purchased at all Skin Renewal branches, and these then form part of the allocation that is sent to underprivileged communities and schools. Over a period of two years, Skin Renewal has provided Komani pads to over 2,000 scholars in and around South Africa.
In essence, the partnership between Skin Renewal and Komani empowers women, provides reusable pads, supports education, reduces waste, and creates jobs, addressing period poverty holistically.
