In true South African spirit, the branch celebrated Heritage Day with a braai in our parking area.
Founder and medical director of Skin Renewal, Dr Maureen Allem, recently became grandmother to her daughter, Catherine’s precious baby girl, Amelia. This time gave Dr Maureen the opportunity to reflect on the special relationship she has with her own mom, Rema, who provided a tertiary education to all nine of her children, even after becoming a widow at the young age of 47. It is clear where Dr Maureen’s strength and determination stems from, and we would like to congratulate Catherine and Dr Maureen on this momentous occasion in their lives.
We are very excited to introduce you to Dr Megan Goble, who has been a part of the Skin Renewal team since November 2019. She joined our team in Parkhurst in November 2020, and is available for appointments on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
Origionally from KZN Dr Megan has a keen interest in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine. She acknowledges the importance of treating and managing outward imperfections in order to ensure inner wellbeing, confidence and self-love. A mom of her very busy daughter she is able to provide working women and moms with guidance as to the best skin care regime and how to achieve the results they desire.
Most of Megan’s free time is spent running around after her daughter or enjoying lazy lunches with friends, visiting family down at the coast or curled up with a good book on the couch.
It is our privilege to partner with Mrs SA once again this year, and to join Basani Malambe on her journey. Basani is a Mrs SA top 50 finalist and has chosen Skin Renewal Parkhurst as her branch of choice, and we loved spending every moment with her!
We are further supporting Gretha Garnett on her journey as she is participating in the Mrs Africa and Mrs Globe contest.

It has been a pleasure to welcome the highly regarded hair stylist, David Gillson of Carlton Hair to our branch. David consulted with Dr Maureen on how to look after his skin best, our amazing therapist Beverley who celebrated her 10-year anniversary with Skin Renewal this year, has been looking after his skin in the room.
Giving back to the wider community is at the core of the Skin Renewal ethos. Nationally, Skin Renewal supports three charities, and the Kliptown community is at the heart of the Skin Renewal Gauteng team.
Just because it wasn’t possible for the company to physically get together for this year’s CSI initiative, it was no reason to let the opportunity pass us by. All 16 branches participated in a virtual food parcel packaging effort, with each branch packing 80 parcels. Each parcel consisted of nutritious ingredients, providing a meal for four when mixed with one liter of water. On completion 5,120 beneficiaries were fed in the three different charities supported nationally.
It was a highlight for us to visit Kliptown with the rest of our Gauteng colleagues to distribute the food parcels to the community that we have so dearly missed. We would like to thank our patients who share in our passion for this community and who so generously share their resources and time.
We are still collecting pre-loved items for the Second Hand shop we started together with the Unemployed Youth in Kliptown. Feel free to drop off any unwanted clothing, linen or homeware at our branch.
