To really get a sense of who we are, medical therapist Deoné Fouché played 10 Questions. Deoné gives insight into what she thinks is the best facial to help with stress, the skincare product that’ makes her face flawless and why she adores Irene.
10 Questions with Deoné:
1). How are you feeling right now? “Good, well rested and ready for the “Season to be Jolly”. Personally it feels like we’re going back to a semi-normal way of being and that’s a positive feeling. But I see how emotional patients are. They’re struggling to tolerate pain. Mentally people aren’t in the best place.”
2). How are you finding ways to help? “It’s about asking more questions. “Are you ok?” it's also about listening to the answers and giving patients the opportunity to be in a space where they can experience wellness on all levels.
3). And what’s helping you? “Taking care of how my skin changes all the time. Dealing with all my conditions on a daily basis means I need something that tackles my oiliness but isn’t too drying. I also scar easily so I like a regular exfoliation. The Alpha Hydroxy in Neostrata Ultra Daytime Smoothing Cream does all of this and works with my skin sensitivities rather than causes flaring.”
4). What is your team’s recipe for happy? “We laugh with our patients and with each other. We are always lightening the mood. In the right moment, connection also means not having to be so serious.
5). Everyone’s got a guilty pleasure right? “Mine’s definitely Caramel Treat. On the days I indulge in sugar, I reach for it and it’s gone in minutes!”
6). What’s the best thing about Irene? “The landscape sets the tone. It’s relaxed with a family vibe.”
7). Hidden gem in the area? “The biltong shop upstairs from Skin Renewal Irene, in the Southdowns Shopping Centre (we’ll help you find it). Also, there are gorgeous boutiques here you can’t find anywhere else.”

I feel my duty as a therapist is to be there for people and offer support. To do that, I need to be in a really positive space and give off good energy.”

This is the month of birthday celebrations for two of our doctors! Happy Birthday Dr Lestonn and Dr Trent. With their special days coming up on the 20th and 27th, that holiday feeling is kicking off and we’re so ready for it. We also have manager’s Nadeane’s Römer’s birthday to look forward to on the 30th of December bang in the middle of the festive season. More reason to spread the joy!

Two of the fabulous finalists in the Mrs. South Africa Pageant and Female Empowerment program for married women, Tshego Dludla and Tanita van der Merwe are entrusting us with their Skin Care needs.
