New year, new reasons to celebrate! This month we’re excited to bring you all sorts of exciting milestones – from new faces in-branch to new technology in our therapist’s hands, from CSI initiatives transforming lives to treatments transforming the way our patients see themselves, let’s get started. But, first, let’s take a selfie…
Having worked at the Rivonia, Parkhurst and Sandton branches before joining our team – and witnessed the company grow branch by branch – our beloved housekeeper, Rosie, celebrates 15 years as part of the Skin Renewal family this month. It’s fitting that this milestone falls within the month of love because we love having her as part of our team as much as she loves being a part of it – “It’s not just a job,” she says, “I am treated like family and cared for.”
Fun Fact: Rosie loves Dr Maureen and worked for her before joining Skin Renewal’s first branch in Rivonia and, as they say the rest is history.

Happy Birthday, Marisa!
Our medical therapist, Marisa Houston turned 58 on 24 January and it was an honour to get to celebrate her for the gift she is to our team. Marisa is really an inspiration – admirably dedicated to her work and all of her patients. Here’s wishing Marisa her best year yet!
Fun Fact: Marisa worked at a bank for 28 years before joining Skin Renewal in 2015 after studying Somatology for 3 years to pursue her love for skin and health therapy. Marisa teaches us all that’s it’s never too late to pursue your passion.
Happy Birthday Noxy!
Noxy Mkwanazi celebrated her birthday on the 26 January, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to bring the party spirit to her like she brings the party to our branch every day with her flamboyant personality. An all-rounder, Noxy joined the Skin Renewal family in 2017 as a therapist, quickly moving into the management team before her love for patients pulled on her professional heart strings. This year she takes on the role of a medical therapist and we have no doubt that her love for being spoilt will be reflected in how she spoils her patients.
Fun Fact: Noxy studied Law after completing her course in Beauty Therapy and, as sweet as her personality is, she’s not a fan of chocolate or sweets. So, if you’d like to get her a Valentine’s Day treat, red roses rather than heart-shaped candy, please.
In November last year, we welcomed Nadia Pillay to our Illovo branch team. New to the Skin Renewal family, Nadia – mom to two little girls and a fur baby – has been assisting at the front desk and learning the Skin Renewal ropes before she moves to join our sister branch in Morningside.
Jean-Marie will be joining us as Assistant Manager from 1 April. A familiar face at Skin Renewal Jean-Marie joined in 2015 and has been based at the Fourways branch. Passionate about cooking she has two daughters, her 15 month old and then her fur daughter Snowflake. Originally from South Africa’s friendly city Port Elizabeth (Ggeberha) Jean-Marie has also spent time in Germany.

We recently said farewell to our Branch Manager, Anudha, but she hasn’t gone too far – just back to her hometown to fulfil the role of manager at the Ballito branch.
Our loss is definitely KZN’s gain. We wish Anudha the best in her new role at the Ballito branch. Although we lose her we love that we remain family.
