With winter well and truly upon us, it warms our hearts to reflect on the past few weeks, which have been filled with plenty to celebrate and appreciate – both in-branch with our colleagues and patients and out and about with our nearest and dearest.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so we hope you enjoy reading our news and taking a scroll through our current highlights reel from our professional and personal camera rolls.

Catarina & Maryke - Setting the Tone from the Top

Our Co-Leaders, Catarina and Maryke recently attended the first ever Skin Renewal Co-Leaders conference, held at the Courtyard Hotel in Waterfall, Johannesburg.

The eventful weekend – “A journey of love, leadership and dedication” – was filled with thought-provoking, inspiring and informative seminars; a fun-filled mystery game (among other collaborative activities); and plenty of opportunities for knowledge sharing.

Definitely one for the highlights reel, we loved being able to spoil and surprise Dr Marilyn for her 60th birthday and were so chuffed that – being the avid traveller and foodie that she is – she said that her birthday cake was “the best cake” she’s ever had!

A few weeks back, Durea went on her well-deserved annual break-away to Swaziland with her close friends and sister where they spent time at the Bush Fire Festival – enjoying amazing artists such as Sho Madjozi and an impressive line-up of talent from across the continent and around the world.

Looking at these pics and the memories made with her nearest and dearest, we can see why she came back, not only feeling refreshed, but with a pep in her step.

Ntsakisi believes that “with the sunrise of each day, we are gifted with a unique opportunity to refine our traits, and how we choose to do that is the key to making each of us the best version of ourselves.” In the spirit of this mindset, Ntsakisi and her family spent some time taking in the cultural experience that is the Hector Pieterson Monument.

Ntsakisi says, “I have always had a sense of self-awareness and looked at each experience as a learning opportunity. Emotions do creep in and have a tendency to change once perspective of the journey; however, I use each life event to amplify myself emotionally, intellectually and socially.”

Janet and Gavin are always proud of their beautiful boy, Caleb, but were especially proud recently as he received his third stripe in jiu-jitsu!

Part of the amazing Crazy Monkey Defense Centre in Edenvale where boys, girls, men and woman are taught Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Caleb clearly loves the challenge of the self-defence martial art and combat sport, which is based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds.

In the spirit of giving back

As the lucky – and thrilled – winners of the best Christmas décor challenge back in December, we took the decision to allocate our prize money to our favourite charity: The Abraham Kriel Bambanani children’s home.

While their wish list is endless, ensuring that every donation is put to really good use, we gave a lot of thought to where our contribution would be best placed. Our contribution to this incredible cause is two-fold – providing for the children's physical needs with our funding and emotional needs with our time.

One of our main focus points while visiting, is to spend as much quality and meaningful time as we possibly can with these amazing kids; holding them, interacting with them and simply making them feel heard and loved.

A special thank you to our Heliocare stockist who donated an SPF to each child, and to each and every one of our amazing friends, family and colleagues for their monetary donations towards the blankets that were made and gifted to all the children.

MesoBrite™ - The New Way To Treat Melasma

The MesoBrite™ treatment for melasma consists of 3 main phases…

PHASE 1:
Preparing the skin and repairing the skin’s barrier and getting inflammation and pigment triggers under control.

PHASE 2:
The in-clinic treatment, consisting of a depigmenting mask that kick-starts the process of treating the dark patches or Melasma which sits deep within the skin.

PHASE 3:
The home care maintenance treatment products further improve the process started by the in-clinic procedures.
