Welcome, Dr Janene!
While we are very sad to say goodbye to Dr Helenka who is headed “back to her roots” to the Mother City to join our Cape Town branches, we are very happy to welcome the lovely Dr Janene Veenendaal to our team.
Born and raised in Gauteng, Dr Janene completed her medical degree at the University of Pretoria before doing her internship at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Passionate about skincare, interestingly she was a Skin Renewal patient who so resonated with the holistic approach taken by our team of doctors towards skin and aesthetics that she wanted to be a part of the team, too.
A lifelong learner, Dr Janene values the fact that Dr Maureen Allem, Skin Renewal Founder and Medical Director, provides ongoing training for all Skin Renewal doctors ensuring that they are au fait and abreast of the latest in international aesthetics techniques and trends.
A multi-faceted woman when not at a Skin Renewal clinic, she enjoys gardening, reading and watching motorsport. Dr Janene is always up for a challenge and loves to travel and explore new destinations. She looks forward to welcoming you and creating a skincare journey that achieves the goals you desire.
Hello Nstakisi!
It gives us great joy to officially welcome Nstakisi Baloyi who has fitted in right in from the start. Our patients connected with her immediately and if how much we love her already is anything to go by, she’ll hopefully be with us for many, many years to come.
Ntsakisi is a qualified Cosmetologist graduate from Ekurhuleni West College. Upon completion, she was not yet satisfied and furthered her studies in Somatology, where she graduated from the University of Johannesburg.
She has a demonstrated history of working in the industry for over two decades, in various roles within the Health, Skincare, FMCG and Aesthetics industry. Her journey included various salons and spas where she filled the roles of therapist, spa manager, as well as operations manager. She also acquired other skills as an Assessor & Occupational Health & Safety Officer.
Having recently participated in a SkinCeuticals initiative, which ran across all 18 of the Skin Renewal branches nationwide, we’re proud to have come out tops – and been awarded R10,000.00 to put towards a charity of our choice. Our charity of choice? Abraham Kriel children’s home – a place near and dear to our hearts for a while now.
There are 10,000 reasons for the big smiles under our masks!
Our donation included tracksuits for the boys, groceries, and toiletries. We are looking to donate some sporting goods next as we identified a need during our visit. Watch this space for our next visit as we cannot wait to go back!

Our branch leader, Janet, is always a proud mommy but she’s particularly proud this year as her baby boy is now a Grade 1. An avid gardener, Caleb, has eye for renovations too – always ready with an opinion or two about what he thinks will look good where.
Wedding Bells for Maryke!
Recently, our branch co-leader, Maryke, tied the knot and said “I do!” in a beautiful setting, alongside the Vaal River. It was an intimate celebration and truly special day – everyone in attendance could feel the love! We love that Maryke takes every chance she gets to mention her new surname so please greet her as Mrs Mann the next time you see her, it’ll make her day.

A Beach Break for Durea!
We just loved the fabulouse pics Durea’s brought back from her well-deserved beach holiday. As you can see, she had a wonderful time in Durban – from fine dining and yacht outings. It’s no wonder she came back relaxed, recharged and feeling (and looking) revived.

Every year 10,000 girls miss school due to them not having proper sanitary wear.
Komani produces high quality reusable, washable sanitary pads which are both sustainable and environmentally friendly. We aim to donate 1000 packs of reusable sanitary packs to each of the charities we support. For every 100 packs we receive, we will spend time with the beneficiaries educating the recipients on personal hygiene and how to use and maintain their sanitary pack. The cost of a pack is just R150 and the pads can last up to three years; requiring only 6 litres of water to wash the pads for the duration of a menstrual cycle.
Our patients have been so amazing in supporting this worthy cause and we appreciate every single contribution.
